Where would we be without our fur babies? I've always been an animal lover. It wasn't until becoming the volunteer photographer at the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County in 2013 that I started to learn a lot about them. Animal body language is a world of its own and understanding key aspects of how they act is a huge factor when taking photos of them. Some dogs bounce off the walls with energy, some are timid, some don't realize how big they are, and some are simply intimidated by the camera lens. Knowing how to assess different situations can help put them at ease. Not everyone understands how to adapt and allow space around what a pet gives you. It requires flexibility and a lot of patience every time.
